My name is Barry and I live in the city of Chicago in Illinois in the U.S.A. I am currently using the online name Wild Bergamot, the name of a perennial wild flowering plant plentiful in the Chicago area that was used as a medicinal by Native Americans, including the Ojibwe and the Winnebago.
Qigong has been my path to embodiment practice. I have practiced qigong for more than 20 years. I have been an activist for many more years than that. Gradually over the last 10 years that I have come to see qigong primarily as an embodiment practice.
I have been an activist for a long time. For many years I have observed the multiple distances between embodiment practice and activism. Over the last year or so, I’ve focused more on the commonalities and complementarities between embodiment and activism. Only after a brief chance visit to The Everything Space have I come to see myself as an embodiment activist.
I created EmbodiedActivism.net with the hope of creating a focal point for information and discussion about embodiment activism on the web. I intend to operate this site myself for a while, but I am open to ideas and contributions from others.
